Tuesday Tech Question

Question:

Am I allowed to install a dry-sump oil system on my 1969 Camaro SS/CA car?  I know that there are some other Super Stock combinations that allow a dry-sump, but I am not sure if I am one of those combinations.

Super Stock Stan

Answer:

Super Stock Stan,

No you are not.  Per the 2014 NHRA Rulebook, dry-sump oiling systems are prohibited from being used in all Super Stock classes other than SS/ES, SS/FS, SS/GS, SS/AX, SS/BX, SS/CX, SS/DX, SS/EX, and SS/VX.
