NHRA Springnationals Traffic Flow Notice

Restrictions on traffic flow into Royal Purple Raceway will be in place for the NHRA Spring Nationals, April 20-22, 2018.  Failure to comply will result in you being redirected.

State Highway 99 (The Grand Parkway-Exit #799) is a tolled roadway that requires a TxTag, TollTag, or EZTag to travel on. planning to arrive early in the week (Monday thru Thursday), who does not have one of the toll tags mentioned above will need to use State Highway 146 (Exit #797) or FM 3180 (Exit #800) off Interstate-10 to access the race track.

Friday through Sunday
during race weekend, the toll fee will be waived for all traffic using State Highway 99 exit ramps via the Interstate 10 corridor during the hours listed below:

  • April 20, 2018 between 7:00 AM and 10:00 PM
  • April 21, 2018 between 7:00 AM and 8:00 PM
  • April 22, 2018 between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM

Please note, tolls will not be waived for the State Highway 99 mainline gantry located south of FM 565.  Access to Gate 1 (Pit Gate and Red/Gold key parking areas) and Gate 2 (VIP & Media Parking areas) on Saturday and Sunday will not be available from State Highway 146 as FM 565 will become a one-way roadway from SH 99 into the Raceway.

During race weekend it is strongly recommended that race teams staying in LaPorte, Seabrook, Kemah, or other areas south of the Raceway travel the following route: SH146 North to Interstate-10.  Take Interstate-10 East to State Highway 99 (Exit #799).  Using an alternative route may result in you being redirected.  Spectator signage will be in place directing traffic off SH 146 to FM 565 but please note that it is intended for spectators only, not Race Team traffic.  Please use the I-10 route for your entry into the Raceway (see map attached).

Again, if you enter the toll road anytime Monday thru Thursday or Friday thru Sunday outside the posted times detailed above, and do not have a toll tag mentioned above, you will be responsible for the toll fee and any related administration fees that result from the Toll Road Authority.  There is no pay window as they are unmanned toll ways.

We strongly recommend you plan accordingly.  If you have any questions please do not hesitate to call Royal Purple Raceway at 281-383-7223.

Thank You,

Royal Purple Raceway and NHRA
