The 2019 NHRA Rulebook states “Full all-leather or non-leather suits meeting SFI 40.1/2  mandatory, leather boots that completely cover the ankle, and leather gloves are mandatory.   Gloves must be Kevlar-lined or equipped with slide buttons. Suits may be one-piece design or joined with a metal 360-degree zipper at the waist.
