NHRA Technical Department Announces Clarification to Junior Drag Racing League Roll Cage Padding Rule

Based on the numerous questions the NHRA Technical Department has received regarding the 2020 Junior Drag Racing League roll cage padding rule, an amendment has been written for clarification. This amendment is shown below and will be posted under Junior Drag Racing League Rules on NHRARacer.com. JR. DRAGSTER RULES AND REGULATIONS, FRAME: 4, ROLL CAGE PADDING (Page 36) (1/15/2020)

Roll-cage padding meeting SFI Spec 45.1 or SFI 45.2 mandatory anywhere driver’s helmet may come in contact with roll-cage components during an

accident. Roll bar padding must be installed in such a manner that the helmet can never contact any of the roll cage bars, including the front bars of the roll cage.
