Tuesday Tech Question

Question:

I would like to remove some weight from my 1974 Vega Pro ET car.  If I take out the OEM glass and replace them with Plexiglas what thickness should it be?

Plexiglas Paul

Answer:

Plexiglas Paul,

In the 2012 NHRA Rulebook in General Regulations, 7:8 Windshield, Windows, page 31, it refers to Plexiglas, Lexan, or other shatterproof material, minimum 1/8-inch thick.
