Texas Motorplex and NHRA Reschedule National Open Event for Severe Weather

With a worsening forecast for tonight and throughout the weekend, Texas Motorplex and NHRA Division 4 officials have decided to reschedule the South Central Challenge to July 25. Fast Friday and tomorrow’s bracket race have been canceled for this weekend.

The South Central Challenge will be run during the already scheduled July 25 Texas Motorplex bracket race. Gates will open early on Saturday in an effort to beat the beat. Gates will open at 7 a.m. and qualifying and time trials will begin at 8:30 a.m. The South Central Challenge will begin the night before during the July 24 Fast Friday test-n-tune event. Each racer will get one qualifier for the South Central Challenge at 8 p.m. during Fast Friday. Fast Friday fees apply but overnight parking will be allowed.

Jr. Dragster classes will not run on July 25 because of the Jr. Western Conference Finals slated for the same weekend so Motorplex officials have declared the June 13 bracket event to be a double points event for all Jr. Dragster teams.

For more information, please contact Competition Director Clint Wallace at clint@texasmotorplex.com. For South Central Challenge information contact Trey Capps at the Division office. 469-248-0014 or tcapps@nhra.com.
