Contingency Awards Added for JEGS Allstars Finalists

NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series sportsman racers who qualify for the JEGS Allstars in their respective categories will have an added incentive to perform this year with the addition of nearly $47,000 in manufacturer contingency awards.

Finalists in Top Alcohol Dragster, Top Alcohol Funny Car, Competition Eliminator, Super Stock, Stock Eliminator, Super Comp, Super Gas, Super Street, Top Sportsman, and Top Dragster will be able to pad their winnings by using the manufacturer's products and displaying the accompanying decal on their vehicles. Each posting company will pay $100 to the winner in each class and $50 to the runner-up.

The JEGS Allstars will be held on Saturday, July 9, at Route 66 Raceway during the NHRA Route 66 Nationals. The event will once again feature individual and team competition among racers in each of NHRA's seven geographic regions. The addition of a manufacturer contingency program brings the total available payout of the JEGS Allstars to $146,800.

"We are always looking for ways to improve the JEGS Allstars program and are excited to see such strong manufacturers support for this new program," said Scott Woodruff, Director of Media and Motorsports for JEGS Mail Order. "With this program, we can provide both additional funds for the racers and added exposure for each participating manufacturer. It's a win-win for everyone involved."

The JEGS Allstars contingency program currently features 37 postings which will provide an additional $31,200 to the winners of the ten classes and $15,600 for the runner-up finishers. Additional postings may be added before the start of the event. The JEGS Allstars contingency program works the same way as the traditional NHRA contingency program in regards to rules and regulations. A complete list of postings will be posted on NHRARacer.com along with the race eliminator contingency awards listing.
