NHRA announced today a fee reduction from $20 to $10 for the recently announced coverage that provides $1,000,000 of Commercial General Liability insurance on pit vehicles for each racer participant at NHRA Mello Yello and Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series events.[1]
Competitors who paid the $20 earlier this year will receive a credit of $10 per entry on their account to be used towards future national event entry. Online entry fees have already been adjusted for all future entries.
"We heard the concerns from our competitors and we are making this fee reduction in response to what we heard,” said Josh Peterson, NHRA vice president of racing administration. “We believe this program is so important that we decided to absorb half of the incremental cost to keep this benefit in place with a reduced cost to racers.”
