Race teams are invited to a memorial service for NHRA Chief Starter Mark Lyle on Thursday, August 4 at 7 p.m. The event will be held in the Finish Line Hospitality area located pit side at Pacific Raceways. The service will be officiated by NHRA Chaplain Craig Garland and NHRA Division 6 Chaplain Martin Schultz. Mark’s family and close friends are scheduled to attend. Marcia Lyle has been instrumental in planning this celebration of Mark’s life. Light refreshments will be served. At dusk (approximately 8:30 p.m.), a candlelight track walk in honor of Mark will take place.
Mark began his career on the switch at Pacific Raceways before moving to NHRA Division 6 prior to being named NHRA Chief Starter. Mark, Marcia and their three kids lived in North Bend, Washington area. There will be an opportunity for Northwest race fans to honor Mark during pre-race ceremonies on Sunday.
