Question:
I’m finishing my Top Dragster and when I take it out it should run 7.0 @ 190 mph. My racing buddies said I’m good with a single parachute and without a head & neck restraint for now. When would dual chutes and a head & neck restraint be required?
Answer:
When looking at the 2018 NHRA Rulebook the Top Dragster class builds off of the Top Sportsman class. T/D rules on parachute are silent so looking at the T/S parachute rules on page 4 if running 200 mph dual parachutes are required. In T/D on page 10 an SFI 38.1 head and neck restraint is mandatory.
