Tuesday Tech Question presented by Evans Coolant

Question:

I'm building a Stock Eliminator car with a narrow transmission tunnel. I can't find a shield or blanket that will fit in the transmission tunnel area. What are my options?

Answer:

Per the 2019 NHRA Rulebook section 11A page 7 Drivetrain : 2 Transmission Automatic it reads in part "Any car running quicker than 10.99 seconds must be equipped with a transmission shield or blanket meeting SFI Spec 4.1." Another option would be to use an aftermarket transmission case that meets SFI Spec 4.1.
