NOTICE OF RECALL
Dear Customer,
Our quality control efforts have discovered that all fire bottle head assemblies sold after January 1, 2021, have a component that was not manufactured to our rigid specifications. As a result, the fire suppression, if activated, will not be as robust as designed, and may fail totally.
The effected head assemblies were component parts of the following items and will bear a label with a manufactured date of 2021.
· 9302 – 5-pound Fire Suppression System
· 9352 – 10-pound Fire Suppression System
· FB10005 – Fire Bottle Head Assembly
Stroud Safety have designed, tested, and manufactured a solution to correct this issue, and is replacing all effected head assemblies free of charge. Upon return of the head assembly from the effected unit or units, we will send you a new head assembly. The new head assembly will be anodized in black to distinguish it from the previous head.
THIS IS A SERIOUS ISSUE. DO NOT CONTINUE THE USE OF ANY UNITS WITHOUT THE MODIFIED HEAD.
Even if you elect not to accept this offer for replacement, the existing units should not be relied on for any purpose whatsoever. If you have sold, gifted, or otherwise transferred either the unit purchased or the vehicle with the unit installed, please contact us immediately to provide us with the name and contact information of the current owner, or possessor.
Failure to replace, or repair any unit purchased after January 1, 2021, exposes a user to serious bodily harm and possible death. Stroud Safety prides itself and its long successful safety record. It strongly encourages all owners of these units to replace the unit or send the head to us for replacement at your earliest convenience.
To initiate the replacement process, please call 405-632-2022, we will provide you with all the requisite information and shipping labels; shipping to and from our facility will be free of charge.
It is expected that the turnaround on repairs will be very short. We are staffed adequately to make the replacement on the date received and put the unit back into transport within twenty-four hours of receipt.
Should you elect to destroy an effected unit for any reason, or are aware that one has been destroyed, we would still appreciate a call to let us know. We are striving to reach every effected owner.
Respectfully,
Tommy Cunningham, President
