NHRA tech department reminder on when a fuel shut off valve is required

July 12, 2022

The NHRA Technical department wants to remind competitors the use of a quick action fuel shut off valve is mandatory on cars equipped with carburetor(s) or nonelectronic fuel (EFI) systems but with mechanical non-OEM fuel pumps must have a quick-action fuel-shutoff valve within easy

reach of driver and located in the main fuel line between the fuel tank and the carburetor and/or injectors.
