NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series Event at SRCA Dragstrip Postponed, Moved to Bandimere Speedway

NHRA and SRCA Dragstrip management have made the decision to postpone the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series Regional Event at SRCA Dragstrip in Great Bend, Kan. The move was made to allow time for the SRCA Club to complete changes to give the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series competitors the best experience possible.

“It was a very tough decision, but we feel it is the right one for the racers,” said SRCA spokesman Hank Denning. “We very much look forward to having the NHRA return to Great Bend in 2024 with the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series.”

NHRA will move the divisional race to Bandimere Speedway in Denver, making that event on June 15-17 a double event. The race will start with a track operated test day on Wednesday, June 14, with qualifying and time trials for the first race taking place on Thursday, June 15. A complete schedule will be posted on the D5 Facebook page, www.nhraracer.com, as well as the Bandimere Speedway website (www.bandimere.com). The Top Alcohol Dragster and Funny Car portion of the SRCA event will not take place in 2023. Those two classes will still compete at Bandimere Speedway as part of the originally scheduled event in Denver.
